In 2012, UAUT received its Certificate of Full Registration (CFR) from the Tanzanian Commission for Universities, officially recognizing the institution as a Cluster 1 university. This milestone allowed UAUT to open its doors with two colleges: the College of Business and Administration and the College of Engineering and Technology. Each college offered bachelor’s degrees in their respective fields—Business Administration after three years of study and Computer Engineering and IT after four years.

In 2015, UAUT held its first graduation ceremony for students from the College of Business and Administration. The following year, the College of Engineering and Technology celebrated its inaugural graduating class. Today, we are proud to celebrate our 9th graduation ceremony, marking another significant milestone in the university’s journey of growth and academic achievement.

In 2023, the College of Business and Administration and the College of Engineering and Technology were merged to form the School of Technology, Engineering, and Business Studies. This new structure offers three innovative programs:

This merger reflects UAUT’s commitment to integrating engineering and business disciplines, producing graduates equipped with the interdisciplinary skills necessary to succeed in today’s competitive job market. The same year, UAUT received further accreditation from the Tanzania Commission for Universities, reinforcing our commitment to upholding the highest standards of academic excellence.

2024 marked a transformative period for UAUT as ownership transitioned from the Korea Church Mission to CTSI Company. This change in leadership opened new opportunities for development, with Dr. Kam appointed Chancellor, Prof. Sung Soo Kim as Vice Chancellor, and Prof. Mukandala appointed as Honorary Professor and Chairperson of the University Council. Under this new leadership, significant growth is underway, including the construction of Baraka Hall, a new three-story academic building, as well as major renovations to the JCC Hall and various other constructions projects. These developments aim to enhance both academic facilities and the overall student experience.
